PARTS SETUP

Overview of the jumper settings for the 3 different boards:

Displays: The display board has only 1 jumper for termination of the RS485 line. The jumper is only needed on the last display so only one display per installation should need the jumper  in a SERIAL configured installation.  The termination for the beginning and end of the populated display track lines up to the last one are performed on the repeater.

I/O Connectors: The connector board has 2 jumpers.  These jumpers are used to connect the track to the RJ45 connectors. When used as a connector only, these are not needed.  A typical place to use the jumpers would be at the end of a track to connect to the next row or at the power breaks where you need to pass data.

NOTICE REGARDING POLARITY CONTINUITY: The I/O Connector boards are also marked with "TOP" on both sides in the corners and this always needs to be up to maintain the RS485 polarity.

Repeaters: The repeater can be mounted in either direction. To maintain correct polarity of the RS485, when the board is mounted with the RJ45 connector to the right, the jumpers should be inserted in positions 1 to 2 on both jumpers. With the RJ45 to the right, both jumpers should be in positions 2 to 3. The 1 and 3 positions are marked at the edge of the jumpers. A quick rule of thumb on this is that as you look at the board mounted in either direction, the jumpers should be in the bottom positions.

Example of new DPS pick to light graphical display showing the DPS logo.  The display is hermetically seal to protect the LCD and its electrical components from environmental particle intrusion.

Displays plug into a virtual bus track that eliminates a major cabling requirement of older system, plus make reset/re-configuration of pick lines literally a  "snap in to the track"

The new DPS pick display is a very intelligent microprocessor based unit with memory in a large display format.  Multiple lines of data and/or graphical images for instruction are sent to operator to guide disposition of the pick or container handling in the pick process.
