HISTORY

Data Processing Services, Inc. has provided IPDA with consulting, solutions and services for EDI (electronic data interchange) since 1982.  Presently over $5 billion dollars in single copy magazine retail sales are transacted through IPDA business-to-business (B2B) exchange, the Electronic Mail System (EMS) annually.  Major publishers, national distributors, wholesalers, printers and logistic agents utilize the supply chain system between the parties via a common Windows PC based interface written by DPS, STRT.

DPS operates the IPDA EMS system on IBM dual core based P5 processors, the RS6000 pSeries.  The advanced UNIX operating system, AIX5L supports a solid hardware and software scalable architecture.  The production system is co-located in a tier-one-hosting-facility with our business partner Vitkin Management Company at the Digiport Miami facility.  A redundant second server site is located in the middle United States in Illinois.  The data and systems are kept in-synch for near real-time fault tolerance redundant multiple located systems enabling 24 hour by 7 day continuity of service.

IPDA EMS
The IPDA EMS System enables the electronic exchange of allotment and affidavit information between publishers and wholesalers.

It enables these processes:

  • Allotments
  • Affidavits
  • Statements and Credit Memos
